See below this judgment from 20 December 2022 on the merits and limitations of annual vacation entitlements. Summary On 20 December 2022, the German Federal Labor Court (“BAG”) ruled that the entitlement to statutory minimum vacation is only subject to the three-year year statute of limitations if the employer has (i) previously informed its employees about their specific vacation entitlements and that the vacation will lapse if they do not take it and (ii) the employee then freely decides not to take them (See judgment – 9 AZR 266/20). Bankrupt FTX threatens legal action to claw back donations to politicians, charities

The new leadership team of bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX.com has threatened legal action against political and charitable organizations that fail to return donations they received when the exchange was led by Sam Bankman-Fried, according to a statement released Sunday. FTX requested the funds be returned by Feb. 28, claiming that they “reserve the right to commence actions before the Bankruptcy Court” if the funds are not returned by that date, with interest accruing from the date any action is commenced. DHS Released a Notice on the Addition of Entities to the UFLPA Entity List

On August 4, 2022, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as the Chair of the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF), formally published the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List. The Entity list is a consolidated register of the four lists required to be developed and maintained pursuant to Section 2(d)(2)(B) of the UFLPA.
